Hot Head - Damon Suede My perfect day entails staying in my jammies, curling up on my couch with a good book. A book so good it is impossible to put down. I just had a day like this. *happy sigh*

I’m lousy at writing reviews and I’m afraid that this one will be woefully inadequate but I’ll try....
Hot Head has two heroes I’m totally in love with. They're both hot, hunky alpha firemen, but they're also fragile, heroic, sweet and touchingly real characters. They make me wish I was gay and/or living in Brooklyn just around the corner from a fire station. Heh ;D
The story ticks all the boxes...it's about friendship, family and unrequited love. It’s filled with very real, achingly sad moments and I cried a fair bit. But it’s also funny as hell and sexy...ohgod, so sexy. I’m not going to pretend to be a literary expert but what shoots this book into the five star category (hell, six, if I could swing it)is the fact that it’s so bloody well written. I had to force myself to slow down, savour the words and sometimes, read them out loud to a pair of irritatingly unimpressed cats.

I read that the story was inspired by a conversation Damon Suede once had with a firefighter who lost his unrequited love in the 9/11 tragedy. This made the story even more poignant. I wonder if that poor man ever found his happy ending?

Damon Suede, thank you. I loved everything about this book and will be first in line to read the next one.... perhaps Tommy’s story? I'm intrigued if it will involve Alek, the kindly Russian pornographer. ;-P
